Dog Training That Fits Your Dog
Small groups or private sessions—we’ll help you choose the right path.
At Lake Country K9 to 5, we offer professional dog training built around real-life needs, realistic expectations, and positive reinforcement.
Whether your dog thrives in a group setting or needs one-on-one support, we’ll guide you toward the option that makes the most sense.
Two Ways to Train With Us
You don’t need to know which option is best yet—here’s how they differ.
🐕 Group Training Classes
Best for dogs who can work around other dogs and people
Our group classes are intentionally small so you get personalized coaching without the cost of private training.
Group classes are great if your dog:
• Is friendly (even if they get over excited!) or neutral around other dogs
• Needs foundational skills like sit, stay, recall, and leash walking
• Benefits from learning around real-world distractions
• Is a puppy or adolescent dog building confidence
What to expect:
• Small classes (typically 2-4 dogs)
• 6-week programs meeting once per week
• 30–40 minute sessions
• Focus on teaching you how to train your dog
• Positive reinforcement only
Popular Group Classes:
• Puppy Kindergarten
• Basics 1
• Advanced / CGC prep
👉 Group classes are our most popular starting point for new clients.
🐾 Private Training
Best for dogs who need individualized support
Private sessions allow us to focus completely on your dog’s specific challenges and your household goals.
Private training is ideal if your dog:
• Struggles with reactivity, fear, or anxiety
• Has behavior challenges that make group class stressful
• Needs customized pacing or a flexible schedule
What to expect: • One-on-one sessions with a trainer • Customized training plan • Real-world, practical exercises • Support for both dog and handler • Positive reinforcement, LIMA-based approach
👉 Many private clients transition into group classes once their dog is ready.
Who This Training Is Not For
We believe in being honest up front so everyone gets the best outcome.
Our training may not be the right fit if:
• You are looking for a quick fix or instant results without practice
• You’re not interested in actively participating in your dog’s training
• You prefer punishment-based, fear-based, or aversive training methods
• Your dog has a history of human-directed aggression or severe aggression toward people
We focus on positive reinforcement, long-term behavior change, and teaching owners how to train their dogs. This takes time, consistency, and commitment—but the results are lasting.
If you’re unsure whether your dog is a good fit, we’re happy to talk it through and point you in the right direction.
Not Sure Which Option Is Right?
That’s completely normal—and exactly what we’re here for.
Most clients don’t know whether group or private training is the best fit until we learn more about their dog. We’ll help you choose based on temperament, goals, and experience level.
