Help your dog develop the skills needed to become a confident, well-mannered companion with our Basics 1 Puppy & Beginner Group Training Class at Lake Country K9 to 5!

This six-week program introduces essential training skills through positive reinforcement, relationship building, and practical, real-life exercises. Whether you're working with a young puppy or an adult dog who needs to brush up on the basics, this class will help you build communication, confidence, and a stronger bond with your dog.

Each week builds on the previous lesson, helping you and your dog develop new skills through guided instruction and at-home practice. Our classes are designed to keep dogs engaged while giving handlers the tools and knowledge to continue making progress long after the course ends.

With a maximum of 4 dogs per class, you'll receive personalized coaching and hands-on guidance in a small-group environment where quality instruction and each dog's individual needs come first.

Class Format & Requirements

  • Total Investment: $186 per dog for the six-week course

  • Class Length: 45 minutes per session

  • Schedule: Meets once per week for six consecutive weeks

  • Consistent Schedule: Same day and time each week

  • Small Class Size: Maximum of 4 dogs per class

  • Home Practice: Recommended between sessions to reinforce learning and build reliable skills

Our small-group format allows us to focus on quality instruction, minimize downtime, and provide the support each dog and handler needs to succeed.

What Comes After Basics 1?

Graduating Basics 1 is just the beginning!

At Lake Country K9 to 5, we want to offer continued training opportunities that meet the needs of our clients and their dogs. Level 2 training and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) preparation classes are scheduled based on interest from Basics 1 graduates.

When graduates express interest in continuing their training, we'll use that feedback to determine demand and schedule additional classes accordingly.

Vaccination Requirements

To help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, all dogs must have proof of age-appropriate vaccinations, including:

  • Parvovirus

  • Distemper

Dogs over 5 months of age must have completed their puppy vaccination series and received their rabies vaccination.
