12-Week Curriculum
Each 40-minute weekly session builds on the last, gradually guiding your dog to remain calm and focused in public.
- Week 1: Introduction & Safety – harness, markers, attention cues
- Week 2: Handler Focus & Engagement – name recognition, touch, pattern games
- Week 3: Controlled Trigger Awareness – Look At That (LAT) game
- Week 4: Replacement Behaviors – sit/look at me, loose leash walking
- Week 5: Moving Around Triggers – parallel walking, “check in” cues
- Week 6: Low-Intensity Real World Exposure
- Week 7: Increasing Challenge – slightly busier areas, multiple triggers
- Week 8: Trigger Passing – calm pass-bys of other dogs/people
- Week 9: Patterned Walking – structured walking routines & engagement
- Week 10: Public Proofing – moderate distractions in controlled environment
- Week 11: Real-Life Situations – simulated public walks
- Week 12: Review & Graduation – consolidate skills, maintenance plan
